A phylogenetic and taxonomic study on Steccherinum (Polyporales, Basidiomycota): Focusing on three new Steccherinum species from southern China

The wood-inhabiting fungi play an integral role in wood degradation and the cycle of matter ecological system. They are considered as “key player” decomposition, because their ability to produce all kinds enzymes that break down woody lignin, cellulose hemicellulose. In present study, three new fungal species, Steccherinum fissurutum , S. punctatum subtropicum spp. nov., collected from southern China, proposed based on a combination morphological features molecular evidence. is characterized by resupinate, subceraceous basidiomata with cracked hymenophore, monomitic hyphal system clamped generative hyphae cylindrical basidiospores; annual, punctate leathery cylindrical, strongly encrusted cystidia ellipsoid basidiospores (3.6–4.5 ×2.6–3.4 µm); its effuse-reflexed basidiomata, odontioid hymenophore pink lilac hymenial surface measuring (2.8–3.4 × 2.0–2.7 µm). Sequences ITS nLSU rRNA markers studied samples were generated, phylogenetic analyses performed maximum likelihood, parsimony, Bayesian inference methods. ITS+nLSU analysis family Steccherinaceae indicated species clustered into genus . Based further dataset, confirmed was sister S enuispinum ; formed monophyletic lineage; grouped clade comprised straminellum ciliolatum

Three new Sinopoda species (Araneae: Sparassidae) from southern China.

Three new species of the huntsman spider genus Sinopoda Jäger, 1999, collected from Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality, P. R. China, are described: Sinopoda cochlearia sp. nov.
